Who is Representative assessee in Pan Card form 40A

There can be instance where the applicant who is applying for PAN Card would be incapable to fill the PAN Card form entries being in a state of minor or in case when he or she is of unsound mind, lunatic, idiot,etc. Section 160 of the Income Tax Act of 1961, allows such peoples to be represented through a specified Guardians known as Representative assessee, such representative assessee acts as a guardian or legally appointed on behalf of the applicant who entries have been furnished from coloumn ( 1 to 13 ) in form PAN Card 40A.

How to fill Representative assessee coloumn 14 of Pan Card

If the PAN Card form is being filled by an another person, representing the person whose details are furnished from coloumn 1 to 13, then the person filling this form has to specify his name and address in the below mentioned coloumn. Such person acts as Representative assessee on behalf of the applicant. Representative assessee or the guardians should mention their details.

Last Name / Surname: Representative assessee or the guardian should write their last name or the surname that they use after their first name

First Name: Representative assessee or the guardian should write their first name

Middle Name: if Representative assessee or the guardian have middle name then do write the middle name in this coloumn and if not then do leave this coloumn blank.
