People generally tend to create bank account mainly to make deposit in his bank account to make savings. Bank needs surplus amount for its survival and this is generally created from the deposit made by the customer in his account. The Bank pays Interest for the deposit made by the customer to allure and promote the habit of adding deposit to a account. The most common method to deposit in a bank account is filling up a deposit form and then presenting at the cash counter with the amount to be deposited. Deposit Slip or pay in slip is a form or a slip issued by bank to its customer to deposit money in his concerned saving or current account. The slip or form is divided into two parts customer foil which the bank cashier returns to the customer after putting his signature and stamp. The other part of the slip is bank copy which the bank retains for his records keeping.

How to fill deposit slip of State Bank of India

There are two part of a deposit slip one is customer copy which is at the extreme left (as shown in obove image) and the bank copy (which is at the extreme right). The customer need to fill both bank & Customer Copy,  the bank retains the bank copy and returns the customer copy as receipt to the customer after doing signature and putting bank seal on the customer copy.

Entries to be filled in Deposit slip of State Bank of India:

Bank Copy

CASH/TRANSFER:  Just tick on cash option to deposit cash in your account.
Date:
  Just write the date on which you are filling the deposit slip to deposit money in your account.

Type of Account: Just click the type of account you are having whether SB/CA/RD/CC/TL

For the credit of the Bank account: Just write the your name by which your are operating your account that is account name

A/C No.:  Just write your Saving or Current account number as stated in your pass book ( Note, please do check your account number twice before submitting the slip  to the cashier).

Cash deposited in the account:    Just write the amount in figure that you will be depositing in your account.along with paisa.

Total Deposit ( Rupees in words):   Just write the amount you are depositing in your account in words.

Telephone No./Mobie No.  :  Just write your mobile number in which you wish to receive Bank deposit SMS Alert

PAN No. :  Just write the PAN Card number on this coloumn but you will have to give PAN Card number only when you are depositing obove 50000( Fifty Thousand)  in your account.

Branch: Just write the name of the SBI branch where you are depositing your money

Code: Just write the Branch Code of the SBI branch where you are depositing your money.

Signature of depositor: Just put your signature in this coloumn ( Any signature)

For Office use:  You always have to leave this column blank in all cases of bank where you see For Office Use as this coloumn is filled by bank officials. Entries relating to transaction ID is filled by the bank officials in these coloumns.

Customer Copy

CASH/TRANSFER:  Just tick on cash option to deposit cash in your account.


Date:
  Just write the date on which you are filling the deposit slip to deposit money in your account.

Type of Account: Just click the type of account you are having whether SB/CA/RD/CC/TL

Cash Details:

Denomination: In this coloumn Just the write the number of pieces of your currency whether it is in denomination of Rs 2000 note or Rs 500 note or Rs 100 note Just write number of pieces  that make your sum of money that you are depositing.
Amount : In the total box below the table write the total amount you are depositing.
